Kitchen Renovation Journey

The kitchen is finally done! After 16 weeks of hard work, unexpected challenges, and creative problem-solving, our dream kitchen is complete. The new cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and appliances have transformed the space completely.

The new fridge, oven, and dishwasher arrived and were installed today! Seeing the appliances in place makes the finish line feel so much closer. Had a minor hiccup with the dishwasher fitting, but managed to adjust the cabinet slightly.

Installed the new luxury vinyl plank flooring over the weekend. Covered up the old damaged subfloor. This made a massive visual impact and really brightens up the space. Opted for waterproof LVP for durability.

Finished addressing the water damage found during demo and updated some of the old electrical wiring. Moved a couple of outlets for better layout. Rough plumbing for the sink and dishwasher is also done. Necessary but hidden work!

Spent the weekend gathering necessary tools - tile saw, multi-tool, good level. Also placed the order for the kitchen cabinets after weeks of research and comparing prices. Excitement and nervousness kicking in!

Started the kitchen renovation project today! Spent the day taking measurements, creating a design plan, and researching materials and costs. The current kitchen is outdated with 1990s oak cabinets, laminate countertops, and vinyl flooring.
